Themed Wine Tastings

At Inverarity we love to show off our range of wines and the best way to do that is to let you taste them!
 
We regularly host tasting events which can be themed around a particular region, country or style of wine. For instance, the Tour de France takes you on a journey around the major wine regions of France without you ever having to leave your chair.  We can also focus on your favourite grape variety, showing examples from all around the world.  And why stick to wine, we also host whisky tastings and cigar events.
 
Our presentation style is very informal, and we definitely don't do stuffy...wine is there to be enjoyed after all.  If you fancy an element of competition to your evening, why not try one of our blind tastings such as "Spot the Kiwi", "Wine Man's Bluff" or alternatively you could sign up for the "Wine World Cup" (it's not as energetic as it sounds, but you do get to sample 12 different wines).
 
We can cater for any number of tasters depending on venue size, and we can comfortably fit 24 people into our shop on Bath Street or 36 in Edinburgh.  Prices start from just £10 per head, and the ticket price directly reflects the cost of the bottles on the table.  We promise never to do a hard sell on the night, and if Pete starts going on and on about visiting Burgundy he will be stopped.

'Wine Man's Bluff' - Perfect for Corporate Entertainment

We are delighted to offer a unique form of wine entertainment with a reputation for being hugely enjoyable for all concerned.  We pride ourselves on being able to present wine in an entirely approachable and informative manner, but above all, to be enjoyed regardless of experience or existing knowledge.

Wine Man’s Bluff is designed to be enjoyed by all.  If you can imagine playing “Call my bluff” with wine instead of words, then you’re halfway there!

From as little as 10 guests to a crowd of 100, we have presented “Wine Man’s Bluff” tastings for a host of companies across the country as an alternative style of corporate entertainment, as a twist on pre-dinner drinks, office gatherings or simply for the fun of it!

Team Quiz

To satisfy the competitive spirit amongst you, we can offer customers a Wine Quiz Tasting.  This is a fun and informal evening, challenging your palate, sense of smell and general knowledge on the World of wine.  Lots of fun, and educational at the same time!

Spot the Kiwi

A fun-filled tasting of three sets of three wines, all shown blind. The first three wines are all sparkling, then we taste three Sauvignon Blancs and finally three Pinot Noirs. As you don't know which wine is in which glass, you have to guess which one comes from New Zealand. Spot the kiwi!

Wine World Cup

This is our new favourite tasting event! We start with 5 countries on the table, each represented by 4 lovely wines. We taste the first wine from each country and the least favourite is out of the competition leaving four teams going into the semi-finals. At this point we go to sudden death and the least favourite of each pairing is off the table. The top two teams go forward with everything to play for, and the winner is decided. Then, as a bonus, we get to taste the last bottle from the winning country. All penalty shoot outs are decided by the referee (Pete!).
